Homework 7

What is it? This is the logo for Smirnoff used as advertisement for their brand.

Function- To promote their product and company.

Where I saw it- I originally saw it in a store and thought it looked cool.

Quality- This is a very simple design only using a few colors, yet making such a complex design. it has complete symmetry besides the type.

Origins- Victorian.

What attracted me to this piece- I adore the birds on it with the shields on their wings, and the sense of strength and pride the logo gives off.

HW 4

What is it? This is actually a logo I made for a team I played with in a video game, called vainglory. It says "TK" which was the abbreviation for our team name. The circles that spell it actually are made from scratch to resemble the an animation a character made. The colors represent different styles you could play the character.

Function? We needed a logo to go pro, and compete. This is also how all of our fans would see us, and how we represented ourselves.

Quality: The quality of this image is actually really good, I would know since i'm the one that rendered it and made it. The colors fading different shades of blue on the left side, and same for the red on the right side.

Style: The style of this is Psychedelia.

What attracted me to this piece? I really love this because of a few reasons. First, I really enjoy the pattern of circles with the fading colors going in and out of the shade of blue, and red.  Second, I made it, which I feel that if you make something you will be drawn to it much more than anything else you can find. Third, It represents the character, and for people that play the game, it has a lot of meaning about the history of the game, and the history of the character.

Homework 2

• What is it? The art work is a magazine cover for an orchard that tells you its motto and how long its been open as well as information on how to contact them. It shows a few apples with some leaves around it as well as some appealing graphics for the words.

• What is the function? The function is advertisement for ADAMS COUNTY NURSERY, it advertises all their products and how their made as well as give them publicity.

• Where did I saw this? I saw this on the cover of one of my dads magazines, as he was reading it to help him see what he wanted to do with his apple trees and his apples. He saw it online and ordered a copy of the magazine.

• What is the quality of the artwork? This is an old time, rustic looking graphic to give an authentic, home like feel to the reader. This makes people enjoy the magazine and want to know whats inside of it. 

• What is the design & typography? The typography begins at the bottom, middle section of the graphic which says "Growing with you...", it has a gold banner that it sits on as well as red lines Hyphenating the motto. Beneath that you have a red banner that tells the location and how to contact them. The middle section is a picture of apples and leaves laying on the ground in a picture frame. There is a gold banner going through the top section that gives the name of the company. Lastly, the background is a rustic green backdrop that gives the feel that its warn out.

• What attracted me to this piece?  I was really attracted to this piece because I enjoy apples and really love their motto "Growing with you...". There is something about it that makes you feel that they are learning just as we are and haven't become a "know it all" corporation.
